New Hudson Facades, a division of Related Companies, is an architectural façade company created to provide comprehensive design, engineering, manufacturing and installation of custom façade cladding systems on world-class buildings. This project entailed construction of NHF’s new manufacturing facility. The building design was a collaborative effort between Granum’s designers and NHF’s own design and technical team.

The building is organized simply into two parts: a two-story reception and office function joined to a high-bay manufacturing zone. The main building entrance is located near a fold in the tall glazed façade and marked with a brightly colored metal canopy. Building structure and ductwork are left exposed in the minimally detailed office areas. Primary functions at the lower level include a client reception area, meeting rooms, testing lab, café and locker rooms. At the second floor level, a collaborative and flexible workspace overlooks the manufacturing operation.

Production takes place within an expansive wide-span steel structure. All manufacturing functions utilize state-of-the-art highly automated systems for inventory tracking, storage and retrieval, machining and assembly. A field of skylights provide ample natural light and are supplemented with high-performance LED fixtures, one of the many sustainable design elements incorporated into the building design.
